Anshul Kothari Honoured with Gujarat’s Eklavya Senior Award

Anshul Kothari, who has represented India in swimming at various international events, was awarded the Eklavya Senior Award by the Government of Gujarat for his outstanding achievements in the field. The awards were distributed by Hon'ble Deputy CM & Sports Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi at a special function held in Gandhinagar on August 13, 2026.

Anshul is the son of Sushamaben & Ketanbhai Rasiklal Kothari.

The Eklavya Senior Award is one of the highest and most prestigious state-level sports honours given by the Government of Gujarat through the Sports Authority of Gujarat. It recognises senior athletes with exceptional performance records in competitive sports.

Anshul Kothari was selected for the award in 2017-18, following his excellent performance in swimming at the national level and at international events too. He won medals at the National Games in 2011 and 2022, international medals in 2011 and 2016 and represented the country at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games too.

In 2026, the government organised the award distribution ceremony after a gap of many years.
